Consequences of emigration after 2004

First of all I’d like to introduce myself. My name is (wpisz swoje imię) and I’m a student of …….. Today I’d like to talk about consequences of emigration after 2004. Before that, I want to explain what an emigration is. It is a phenomenon of departure people in order to change a place of resident. It always has negative and positive results and I will describe the consequences in my speech.
According to data from polish Department of Work and Social Policy and other similar institutions in European Unions countries it is estimated that annual departure from Poland to other countries about 800 thousands people. It is hideous number, which year in, year out will be rising.
A first consequence of the big number is luck of specialists in Poland. People who have higher education or are specialized in specific field go from Poland to European countries , because in our country wages e.g. in medical services or building engineering are low and it is no wonder that specialist from the branches emigrate. But it is connected with lower standards doing services here. This is bad for our science development and for health people who live in Poland. Also new buildings are not good as will be when building engineers will be.. It causes that in Poland will be worse things than in other country what makes our country less interesting for e.g. immigrant or tourists.
This brings me to my next point. Fact, that specialist go in order to earn more money may make polish employers to rise wages and payments in order to restrain employees in Poland. It means too that it may improve conditions of work and life in our country. Everything depends on polish government, who may introduce appropriate lows. Results the lows will be ameliorate life in Poland, earn more money (slowly we may match other countries from European union). After the lows specialist who may go to west will stay in Poland and our country will provide them worthy life and payment on which they deserve for. Then Polish specialist will stay or come back to Poland and work to our image. When they come back they will be more qualified ad have more experience what may be very good for Polish economy.
I’d like to turn to next consequence which is more transfer money to Poland. In 2004 Remittance in Poland constituted 3% all transfers on the world and it was 60% more than previous year. Emigrants send their relatives money which they earn in EU and ipso facto secure their family more money and higher standard of life. According to National Bank of Poland society become richer and richer after 2004 and it’s mainly caused by money send from emigrants. That means that Poland become country richer than further.
However money is not everything. Now I’d like to go on to social consequences of emigration. When people go for long time it is bound with long separation with next of kin (usually wife or husband and kinder). Sometimes happen that the people feel lonely and arrange their life on new place, find new spouse and arrange new family ant the contact between emigrants and “old family” tear off. It happens too that emigrants not achieve success in new place and it conduct to collapse and, like in previous situation, to tear off contact with family. In any case it’s the cause institution of family crisis. After 2004 is noted down more numbers of divorces, families break down. A lot of people remain within spouses but with children and their have to look after the children lonely. Then appear problems with upbringing. Young people more often reach for drugs, alcohol, and violence. Fortunately now this phenomenon is not on a large scale but it is raising tendency and when more people will start go abroad number of problems will be still ascending.
I’d like to summarize the main points again. It is universally known that people emigrate in good goals. They want to earn more money, improve their and their family life. Thank to emigration we may in future have experienced specialist and maybe will be to take to increase payments and wages. But emigration not brings only benefits. It has negatives results too. It cause breakup families, problems with children leaved in home. It has too bad influence on polish development because specialists go where bigger payments have. I’d like to finish by saying that emigration after 2004 have good and bad consequences, but what will be scale these negatives will be depend on lows which governments introduce and on people who decide to go to work to European Union.
