living with parents or renting flat

When given the choice of living with parents or renting your own flat most people prefer the first option. To me, however, living in a flat is more appealing.

Firstly, it is easier to be responsible for yourself if you live on your own or share a place with people who are nor your family. You can divide household chores like cleaning among all co-tenants. You are responsible for your own food, shopping and cooking unless you agree otherwise.

Furthermore, co-tenants create a wonderful atmosphere together. Living together, sharing things on an everyday basis and being generally independent is great fun. People frequently fell they form a sort of family and may also make friends for life.

What is more, if you are renting a place with others, you can all share costs. You split the rent and share utility bills, such as heating , hot water, gas and electricity. In this way every person spends much less money.

On the other hand, the landlord may often require you to pay in advance for whole period of tenancy. Then all the savings you possess may not be enough to cover the whole expense.
For good place close to where you study you may even be willing to get into debt, which is risky.

All in all, I believe that living for your own is better than living with parents. Although renting a flat might be more expensive and risky than staying in parents house, it teaches you responsibility.
