Rozprawka: Are mobile phones a blessing or a curse?

Nowadays, more and more people use cell phones, therefore there are many diverse views on the matter. Quite a lot of people concern them as a curse. On the other hand, there are lots of people, who absolutely disagree and deem mobile phones to definitely be a blessing of our century.

There are several arguments supporting this statement. First of all, there is the ability of immediate contact. After the car crash or a similar accident, help can quickly be called. It is really important in situations when there is no one to depend on, for example in solitary places. Another significant advantage is that one can always be available, even abroad, because cell phones are used everywhere and one can take them wherever he or she wants.
Furthermore, it should be borne in mind that mobile phones have additional features like calculator, calendar, alarm-clock, camera or MP3-player, too.

However, there are many arguments against the devices. Opponents remind of the other side of the coin: high bills. Both cell phone calls and cells are always expensive. Having a mobile phone is often motivated by the need to follow recent trends. One must have the newest model in order to be trendy. Next to the high costs of owning a cell phone comes the high probability of it being stolen.. Last but not least, it should also be considered that one can become addicted (mainly the adolescent) to mobile phone conversations and text-messaging. They spend a lot of time and money on it.

To sum up, there are many pros and cons. I have already made my mind, because I have my own mobile phone. In my opinion they are a blessing - they are very practical, easy-to-use and make the communication convenient.
