Christmas Time

Christmas is a very special time for me and my family. It is as early the beginning of December that the "Christmas-time fever" begins. Everybody cleans the rooms, windows, carpets, does a lof of washing… Some days before Christmas we hang on coloured electric lights on a tree in front of our house. My mum and grandmother prepare a lot of tasty dishes: mushroom croquettes, carp, pierogies and many different dainties! I love to decorate my Christmas tree with my friend. We have a lot of fun! My tree is a two coloured: gold and blue. On them are a lot of baubles, little angels, stars and of course long coloured paper chains.
In the evening on 24th December we celebrate Christmas Eve. About 4 pm arrive my uncle, aunt with my cousin and my sister with her husband. We sit for a Christmas supper about 5 pm. Before we start eating we share the wafer and wish each other all the best wishes. The supper start with soup. In my home this is always beetroot soup. Later on we eat potatos with muschrooms, carp, pierogies. For the supper my family drink prune compote, but I really don't like it! On a dessert we usually eat a cakes and fruits. After the supper we talking about everything, laughing and joking. After, we open the presents and show everybody what do we get! At midnight I always go to church with my friend for a traditional midnight mass called pasterka. My family usually goes to sleep, but they go to a church in a morning. In next days we visit to our family and they visit to us. This is how my Christmas looks.
