What to do in case of fire

1. Everyone who notices fire inside a building is obliged to:

a) inform the headmaster about possible danger,
b) inform people who are in danger zone.
c) call the fire brigade - 998

2. When hearing alarm system, don't panic. Follow the instructions given by the teacher or the headmaster.

3. Turn off any electricity in rooms threatened by fire.

4. When calling a fire brigade, you have to give the following information:
a) where is burning: a detailed address, name of institution, which floor,
b) what is burning: e.g. magazine on the ground floor,
c) is there a danger for people's life
d) the telephone number which you are calling from and your name.

Hang up the phone not before notification is approved. Stay at the phone for a moment - controller may call back to confirm the notification of fire.

5. If it's needed, call other emergency services:
Ambulance service - 999
Police - 997

6. If the fire threatens lives or health of other people, start rescuing them and use fire extinguishers available. Don't extinguish the fire caused by electric installations and equipment with water.

7. Make sure that all doors and windows are closed. An access of air to the room helps the fire spread.

8. Remove any flammable materials from the range of fire, especially valuable documents, computer equipment, archives etc.

9. If the equipment is used in a quick and correct way, the fire can be nipped in the bud.
