My favorite books is "Junk" by Melvin Burgess. It is a novel about drug addicts.
Gemma - girl from "good house" meets Tar - boy with problems. They both are fourteen years old. Teenagers fall in love with each other and escape from houses. They know Richard, who helps them - finds a new house and friends - Lily and Rob. After some time of friendship with addicts, Gemma and Tar start to do take drugs. They become drug addicts too. Together with Lily and Rob they must rob shops and drugstores, to have drugs and food. A few years go by in this way.
Gemma become pregnant, gives birth to a baby and finishes with drugs. After that she leaves friends and comes back home. Gemmadoesn't want to see father of her doughter - Tar.She meets with him from time to time. Young mother starts a new life.
I think, that this book is worth reading. "Junk" may be warning to drugs.
