I seldom eat out so it is really difficult for me to recommend a good restaurant. There’s one, however, I would encourage you to go. This is the Hungarian Restaurant which is located in Pulawska street in Warsaw.
The last time I ate in the restaurant was September last year when my Japanese boss was about to come back home after 5 years’ work in Poland. He invited our department to the restaurant before he left for Japan. As his family were also coming back there were also his wife and his daughter at the farewell party. The reason that he chose this restaurant was that he had been there several times on various occasions and he enjoyed it very much.

The restaurant looked cozy and nice. The interior was decorated with embroidery and Hungarian folk ornaments. There was a large green carpet on the floor. In the middle of the main hall there was a huge table covered with a linen cloth. The seats around were padded and were comfortable.

There was a big cauldron of Hungarian goulash in the middle of the table which was being kept warm by a small cooker underneath.
The service was nice and fast. Young pretty waitresses were sneaking around filling our glasses with drinks. We were served vegetable salad as a starter. Then we could help ourselves with the goulash. Some of us ate up to three helpings of it because it was really good: spicy and hot.
The main dish was veal stew cooked with potatoes, pepper and tomato The dish was garnished either with boiled potatoes or galushka (midget dumplings). A variety of Hungarian wines, which seem to be inseparable addition to the main dish, was served. We could chose from Tokay wine, muscatels or rieslings. One of our friends noticed that the name Tokay is similar to Tokyo which is a good reason why our boss liked the wine best.

We enjoyed the party very much. My overall opinion about the restaurant is good. I can’t comment about the prices thou because according to Japanese rules the host pays the bill.
