Social problems.

XXI century is full of modernity and wealth, but the more up-to-date is world the more problems are in it.
One of those problems is alcohol abuse, which is the greatest Polish weakness and our national vice. Although Polish society seem to be very tolerant towards drunkards. People drink on every possible occasion: to celebrate a wedding day or a birth of a child, but there is a very thin thread of being a real drunkard. Alcohol addicts don't need a partner for drinking. They usually drink alone and they hide their addition. What is wrong. They should search for help in self-help groups like Alcoholics Anonymous. Alcohol is also a cure for personal problems, but despite demaging the health, alcohol abuse ruins family life.
Another social problem id the drug habit. Drugs can cause confusion and frightening, but also can infect the system leading to sores, even AIDS disease. Many teenagers turn to drugs such as antidepressants to cope with the stress in school and problems of their private and family life. In that case teenagers need to talk to a doctor or parents, if not they may be pushed into drug taking and addition.
Nowadays a big problem in the world is unemployment. Most of people who lose their jobs look for the same sort of job and they don't have relevant qualifications for a different occupation.
A very hudge problem are divorces. In Poland one in five marriages disintegrates. Common reasons for divorce are housing problems, alcohol abuse or conflict of values. The consequences of breaking up affect both parents, but children suffer the most. In short, people should realise that marriage isn't a momentary whim and before they decide to make a family, they have to be conscious of responsibility for their deeds.
What is more, in families sometimes occurs a violence. Victims of brutality at home are usually children. Parents tend to give their children a trashing not only for drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes, but also for receiving low marks at school or getting home late. We have to notice that the victims are not only children, but also wives. What is worse they often tolerate the pain for years.
As we can see, there are a lot of social problems in the world. One bigger, one smaller. One more visible, one less. If we want to change the world, first, we have to change our behavior and people's arround us.
