During the last Theatre Festival “Sąsiedzi” I watched a play „Stories of an Ordinary Madness” directed by young director Małgorzata Bogajewska and written by a Czech screenwriter Petr Zelenda. Janusz Młyński plays a 30-year-old Peter who feels lost in the modern world, and nobody can ask his questions about the meaning of life.

Peter works in the office and lives alone. He feels very lonely in the town. He also tries to communicate with his parents who love him but not love each other. Mucha, his best friend, has some sex problems, like his neighbor too. His ex-girlfriend wants to marry some stranger and Peter’s boss becomes more demanding. It is too much for Peter.

It is not only a humorous but also story to think about, for young people who have similar dilemma of existing in the modern world. The actors, especially Janusz Mlyński (Peter), Mariusz Wiśniewski (Mucha) and Jerzy Kaczmarowski (Peter’s father) give a great performance. The scenery and the light are really original.

Young people, including teenagers, can have a great fun and chance to think about their life in the same time. The play is amusing, involving and current. Young audience will not get bored but will have some issue to thought.
