Coffe is said to originale from Kaffa in Ethiopia and most species of coffee plant are found in the tropics of the Eastern Mempisphere. The species which is thought to be the eavliest coffe plant ever cultivated by man is Coffea avabica. Today it is grown mostly in Latin America.
The coffee shrub reackes a height of 8-10 metres and has white scented flowers. It is produce a red fruit which is called a cherry.The cherry coutain two seeds which are joined together. These seeds, which are first roasted and them they are ground to make coffee. The grands are then processed in a variety of diffeuent ways. Sometimes they are filtered and sometimes they are soaked in water to make drink which is popular with so many people. Coffee is available as grounds or as instant coffee powder and is drink by are third of the would\'s population.
