France

It is one of the oldest, historically and culturally nation in Europe. It lies near the western end of European continent, it covers a total area of 543 965 square kilometres. France has a republic government with capital in Paris. France borders in east with Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Switzerland and Italy and in the south with Spain and Andorra. Metropolitan France is divided into 22 regions. The population of France is about 60 millions. The climate is generally cool in winter and mild in summer. The terrain is mostly flat or gently rolling hills in north and west but there are high hills, Pyrenees in south, Alps in east.

France is often visited by foreign tourists. There are about 70-80 millions of tourists visiting France. This country offers varied forms of spending time. Many tourists is visiting historical French centres, first of all - Paris, than cities like Lyon, Strasburg, Nice, Cannes, Bordeaux. In the summer millions of visitors rest on French beaches for example on Azure Blue Coast in St Tropez or Marseille. Lovers of winter sports have possibility to rest in perfectly prepared Alp centres (first of all Olympic Chamonix and Albertville).
One of the most popular things in France are the renaissance Castles of Loaras Valley. Other popular places and events: Tour de France the most known bicycle race in the world, the city of Bordeaux where are produced wines, the province of Champaigne where are being produced Champainges one of the most expensive drinks in the world.

French kitchen belongs to the most well known and tastiest in Europe.
This country is famous from cheese. It is produced from milk of cows, goats and sheep. There are main regions of production of cheese: Owernia, Normandy, Burgundy and Central Massif. Famous French specials made from cheese: creamy fromage blanc, cantal, roquefort, brie and camembert. Frenchmen are famous in world as consumers that eats unusual products like frogs (legs) and snails. Burgundy is famous with “Escargots” and “Quenelles” (raviolis with fish or calf meat) as well as “Gougre” (cake with cheese). On Azure Blue Coast is eaten fish soup and dish from fruits of sea e.g. salad from octopus. Bretognes eat shellfishes. In France everybody drinks wine to meals, practically red, pink or white accord from meal. In Normandy people drinks strong cider drinks – “Calvados”. Cognacs and brandy are popular too.
Eiffel Tower dominates over city, which is visible from many places and it is a great vantage point. Paris is a capital of world fashion, exclusive shops and extraordinary perfumes. Everyone can make shopping at Jean-Paul Gualtier’s, Kenzo’s or Yves Saint Laurenta’s.
This is a place with specific and unique climate and from many years attracting artists, composers, painters, poets, writers from all over the world.
Great museums and suvenirs after many famous people like Fryderyk Chopin, Jim Morrison and Picasso who lived there.
Most visited places in Paris are: Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, Disneyland, seventeenth-century palace of Versailles, Arc de Triomphe. Paris is one of the European capitals, which has the greatest number of parks, woods and gardens.
