It was in 2000, I went with my brother, my father and their friends on cruise, going through France coast. Before we get on ship, we drive to huge castle located on the north coast of France, near the border of Brittany and Normandy ? st. Michel. It's a medieval monument build on small islet and connected to the mainland by causeway. Six times in the year, the inflow of ocean, coses that the water is surrounding the whole island. Mont Saint-Michel was built in a strong rock, it measures 84 meters height. It is pure granite and is so hard that has resisted from the 13th century. It was built as a medieval castle and has two large towers to defend the entrance to the castle. In the center of islet, there is a cloister with high tower with a gold sculpture of st. Michel on a top. All towers and other buildings, resemble a pyramid. Form the cloister you can see a wonderful view on sandy dessert or on the ocean in the inflow.

Old, rock walls with overgrowth and absence of cars makes a magnificent atmosphere. If there was no tourists with cameras one would think that we are still in 15th century.

I recommended this place, especially that certainly it belong to one of the most beautiful monuments build by human.
