Karen was 28 years old. In 1972 she took a New Job At nuclear factory. At her first day she learnt a lot. When she was learning Susan helped her. Susan explained Karen about the scanner and radioactive dust. In the factory her best friends were Drew and Susan. She liked her new work very much. Life was going well for Karen Silkwood . In the summer when Karen and Susan were leaving the laboratory the alarm rang. Susan were radioactive! Two men took her into the shower, Susan was shocked. Karen saw That Susan suddenly looked older and she was afraid. After the shower everything changed Susan become very quiet. Karen and Susan were very scared about the factory because alarm rang more often. They were thinking about leaving this job but Karen decided to be in the Union Committee and change the safety. She won because the most of woman voted for her. Later alarm rang again. Karen went for a shower. Next time union committee had a meeting in Washington. She promised that she would steal some negatives, to proove bad safety. In October very slowly she began stealing negatives. In November when she checked her hands in the scanner the alarm sounded again. She had a shower. Men in white called her a thief, but she didn’t know why. Soon all Karen’s things were in bags because all her home were radioactive. She seeped in the Drew’s home. She explained him why she was stealing negatives. Next day Karen Drew and Paula went to los Alomos for medical tests. Doctor said that Karen was still a little radioactive but she wasn’t in danger. She took envelope with negatives and drove to the meeting but she never arrived. She died in the car crash.
