?Parachutes? is a Coldplay?s debut album, full of romantic and smoky ballads that testify to artist maturity of musicans.The obvious comparison is to Radiohead or U2 but in fact the group has its own characteristic Brit-pop sound. Coldplay is also a well-known band because of an amazing lead singer?s vocal who uses his falsetto in a very effective way.
?Parachutes is a highly acclaimed album with beauty written all over it. Lyrical and emotional lyrics make record artistic excellence. All the tracks are worth listening.?Parachutes? opens with ?Don?t Panic?- refreshing and ultimately brilliant song filled with perfect guitar tones. The hit ?Shiver? certainly stands out. It is a full of dynamism masterpiece which keeps it interesting until the end.?Trouble? is other track worth its mention. The song is so rhythmical, beautiful and cheerful that became one of the four singles from ?Parachutes? album. ?Yellow? is composed of excellent, delicate guitar tones that make it sounds perfectly. On this album Chris Martin proves that he is a great singer and guitarist. Artist makes the music he loves and which is his biggest passion.
The record was nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2000. Two years later ?Parachutes? earned Best Alternative Music Album at 2002 Grammy Awards.
