If I was able to revive one person I will choose…. I don’t know. It’s a hard question. There are so many death people that I would have very big problem to choose one. For example, leader of one of my favorite rock bands – Freddy Mercury – died in 1991. He was a great singer, on Queen concerts were coming people from all places in the world. His songs know all funs of music. I would like to see Freddie on concert on my own but it won’t be good idea to give him next life. Now, he’s some kind of legend – if he could live in our world he might be different men. Few years ago there wasn’t something like commercialism, people were free. Now, if someone wants make a record have to make a lot of advertisements, show himself in TV and make a lot of stupid things. Pop stars have to be in every newspaper – funs can’t forget about them. So it won’t be a good idea for sure. If I would like to do that I would only hurt him.
I have to think about the other person. Let me see….. It must be someone who can make our lifestyle better. This person should be very intelligent and creatively. Someone who can do something for humanity. It could be Maria Curie-Skłodowska.
When she was young, everyone knew that she will be someone. She was able to do big things because she was very clever. She was the best in her school and passed her exams with an order. It was the time, when women couldn’t go to the high schools so she was frequenting to Sorbonne. When Maria started her explorations there was problem but she didn’t even thought about defeat and she didn’t stop her searching. She wouldn’t have so many achievements without her husband – Pieter Curie. Firstly, he was learning Maria and they became friends. After few years they became one family. He was helping her a lot – without his money she couldn’t continue her explorations. In 1898 they discovered a new element called polon. After few years they discovered next one – rad. These two small things are very important. They are very useful in medicine – doctors use them to fight with cancer. Before this discovering, people thought that there was no way to fight with cancer. Marie and Pieter followed very generous, because they decided that they didn’t want any money for using rad. In 1903 they received many orders and prices for they work. Maria become a physic doctor on Sorbonne University, in June they received Davy’s gold medal (one of the most important orders), in December – Nobel’s price. Everything was all right but in 1906 her husband died. She becomes first professor on Sorbonne University in history. In 1911 she received second Noble price. Marie was very famous in Europe and United States. She was helping hurt soldiers in First World War.
Maria Curie-Skłodowska is one of the greatest European scientists. Her exploration helps to fight with many illnesses. She was grateful, intelligent - and the most important thing – she is our countrywomen. If I could revive one person it would be Maria. Technology is still developing so she might do much more then over 100 years ago. We really need that kind of people.
