Have you ever wanted something so badly that you just hardly could wait? I have. My whole was looking forward to a summer vacation in Poland this year by which I mean : my mom , my dad , my brother and me. We flew a plane for 11 hours , had a huge problem , then everything turned out great and we enjoyed it blissfully . It was the most wonderful vacation in my whole life.

In general , it was another steaming hot day in the middle of July this summer when it all happened. That day was one of the days in my life when I was more nervous then ever. My uncle drove us to the airport , where we quickly said “bye” , and went to grab something to eat. Then , after all the airport baggage briefings and checkings , we rested a while and waited for our plane gate to open. All of us were joyful when it did , and not in a long time we were relaxing in our seats , with the plane soaring in the air , like a noble falcon. Appreciating the flight , which passed by languorously ,we couldn’t be filled with joy about everything .The food wasn’t too good , and the flight attendants weren’t really friendly. Although , it didn’t matter , because we were together , and had an absolutely marvelous time , and nothing really could change that.

Finally , we started landing in Poland about 9 am . When it appeared before my eyes ,the looks of Poland from above , the only thing that my eyes saw was yellow and light green land , and then I remembered , that it was where I came from . Where it was green everywhere , blooming with nature. It was one of the most wonderful things in my life that I saw , although it may seem really unusual to think of miles and miles of land as the most beautiful thing that you ever saw. Believe me, it was. When we got of the plane , excitement got to me , when my brother spotted my aunt searching for us in the crowd. In a second , she ran our way , crying and laughing , no one really knew what was happening. She cried “witajcie!” , which means welcome in Polish. While driving us to her house , which was not a long way from the airport , everyone was a part of the conversation , except me , busy looking out the window with amusement . “All those strange cars , those tiny roads , these green streets “,I thought. It still seemed like a dream to me. It always will.

The first day , I started unpacking. Everything was there , except my precious passport. My hands swooshed around my baggage . It wasn’t there ,and it was obvious that I couldn’t go back to United States without my passport. I panicked , but I tried to calm myself since my mom always taught me that the situation gets even worse when you panic. “Everything is going to be fine , don’t worry “,and then ,“Lord , please let it be fine , let it be fine“ prayed. I told my parents , and my uncle started calling people , who as he thought “could help”. “To make a passport” ,he said ,”it’s going to take 2 months”.
I prayed ,”God , please help me , Lord please help me”. Our vacation was planned for 3 weeks , not 2 months.Meanwhile , my aunt thought of calling the airport’s police station , or lost and found. We did , and gave the secretary my passport information , and she said that they would call back if something was found. After 2 tormenting hours of scary thoughts she called back. It was found on the parking lot , and we figured out that I put it on the baggage carriage , and someone stole it and threw it out , because there was no money in there. “It should be at you nearest police station to pick up in a few days”, she said happily , since we were all grateful. At this point we jumped , lighthearted laughing and even crying. I said “dziekuje” , which means thank you. “Thank the lady that found it, was her last word , well second last since she gave us that lady’s phone number. I called her , and thanked her. She said that it was nothing , and she was happy to make someone happy. The rest of the 3 weeks was a dream . Seeing my friends again , my home , the little but enormous things that I missed since the time that I came to US , filled my heart with joy , as spring after cold winter for a tiny bird that looked for food. Before , I was lost , my heart was somewhere else. Now , I found what I was looking for . The trip made me realize how much a person can be attached to their nation , their country , their world.
After 3 amazing weeks we came back to US , and our lives came to its usual tracks , once again.

At last , I looked forward to that journey more than I can ever imagine. After flights , the enormous problem , and when every single thing turned out fine it truly was the most incredible vacation in my life. This whole trip was a dream of mine , and it always be one , the dream that came true that I would want to come back to again , and again , and maybe make it come true all over again. That’s why I came to the conclusion , that dreams DO come true , even if with a little problem , or a big one . You just have to BELIEVE and never , ever give up NO MATTER what happens , because dreams are worth living for. Your life is a journey , which needs goals to reach and dreams to fulfill. It’s human to dream.
