Yesterday the historical negotiations in Copenhagen finished successfully for Poland.

On 13th December the Copenhagen Conference has taken a place. Now Poland and the other candidate countries can complete their preparations for entry the European Union. The Copenhagen Conference has formally invited Poland and other nine countries to join the EU.
Mrs. Miller gains in Copenhagen more, than Schrder, Blair, Chirac and Berlusconi wanted to give him. He took the tactic “everything or nothing”. In the Copenhagen Conference we have negotiate as well conditions as we possibly can.
The European Commission plans to spend 42.5 billion euros in 2004-2006 on candidate countries. Half of this money could go to Poland. The majority will be spent on structural funds and agriculture.
On enlargement, the EU will have to employ over three thousand new clerks, and Poland can have 700 “A” category employees earning up to 14.5 thousand euros.
Candidates have to have a good command of one of the official languages and speak another one too (English, French, German).
Nowadays for Poland the most important are the next sixteen months- the government should use this time to reduce ex., taxes because in 21st May 2004, we will have referendum in which the Polish people will say Yes or No to European Union.
For the EU, our country is the most important of the first wave of application. Poland, on the other hand, is anxious to “return to Europe” after half a century of forced isolation and Russian domination.
