Newspapers seem to be one of the oldest media. However, they became not as up to date as TV or radio news now. Generally press does not provide us with fresh information; we only receive commentaries about yesterday’s events. The reason is a long time necessary to complete a new issue.
At the beginning of the press history there were only daily newspapers. With time appeared many other kinds: daily, weekly, monthly periodic. Presently we have over 2 hundred positions on the press market. The most numerous are computer, housewife, erotic and children magazines.
The informative role of newspapers is not primary any more; radio and TV information reaches us a lot faster. It takes really a lot longer to prepare, print and distribute a paper than to broadcast information on TV or radio.
That’s a reason why press is becoming more accurate for hobbies, science or branch magazines. Due to its high specialization this kind pf magazines are being bought by narrow and constant group of readers.
