The Industrial Revolution of the middle18th century opened a new era for people. But there was something more than just new machines, factories, and an increased standard of living. It was a revolution which transformed English and European society. The Industrial Revolution was a key to the modern Western society and can be said to have made the European working-class and middle-class as well. But what were the reasons for it? Let’s look at it closely.

The main reason for the Industrial Revolution was the transition from agriculture to a modern commercial society. Technological improvements and new production methods caused social and political upheavals that had revolutionary consequences for human society. We need to remember that the scientific revolution was one of the direct causes of the Industrial Revolution. Then, in the 18th century in Britain, new production methods were introduced in several key industries. The new methods included different machines, fresh sources of power and energy, and new forms of organising business and labour force. People had begun to develop mass production. The result was an increase in material goods, usually selling for lower prices. Britain also won every war in the 18th century from France, therefore, territory as well. These new overseas territories provided Britain with raw material to manufacture goods and also the markets to sell the finished goods.
