Advertising - useful or not?

It is often said that advertising is useful and very important in our world, especially in market economy advertising is extremely important. However, in my opinion there are different opinion about this subjects.
Firstly, advertising is an important element of marketing function. The aim of advertising is to persuade consumers to buy some products. Without advertising sales would be poor and costumers not interested in products.

But secondly, some people say that advertising makes us buy things we would have never bought. And many people believe that advertising shows only advantages and it is not the whole true. People want to see real life. Commercial advertisements on TV are a nuisance , since they usually interrupt the film at the most exciting moment.

On the one hand people rather don't like watch serious advertising and when product is being advertised over and over again, then they usually change TV canal. On the other hand advertising is great fun. And even if it is a brainwash they make our towns, railway station, airports, shops and magazines colorful and attractive. They are also an important source of income for TV, radio and press.
Many advertisements contain a slogan or a short phrase to attract the consumer's attention. Effective slogans are usually short, easy to remember and easy to repeat. Many manufactures of sports goods often use sport personalities to help sell their product. For example Michael Jordan one of the most graceful players is endorsement by NIKE. There are many advantageous of using famous people in advertising although it is very expensive. Famous people are well known in country or in the word and product become in such way more known because people want to identify with them.

Advertising preys on our instincts and emotions. That is why are often about love, happy families, little and sweet babies, home, health, and physical fitness. More complicated advertising appeals to our reasons, for example: ‘Buy this mineral water because it contains microelements vital for your health!’ .
Experts often use some tricks in advertising. For example: special words: new, better, tested, recommended by an expert, miracle, just for you; offering discount: ‘buy this, we give you that free’; deceit with numbers (something cost 9.99$, not 10.00$).

Finally, from my point of view it is important to remember that it is freedom so people can choose and decide and advertisement can help them, sometimes make them fun, sometimes make them said because they for example haven’t got any money, but every thing is for people so…
