What are stories

The term “stories” can be associated with many things. For some, they may be remembrances, or sad moments. Me? I believe that stories are memories. Stories kill time, make people smile, sometimes make them sad, or angry. They can derive a variety of different emotions. Nevertheless, they always have a lesson in them, or as my mom would call it, a moral; they have a purpose in being told. For example, there is a poem in polish literature about an owl. It tells a story of an owl who read books each night, until it went blind. This poem taught a lesson to not read at night. My mom made me memorize the whole poem when I was 10, because she caught me reading books under the covers with only the light of a single flashlight. Stories can also be memories, like the interview we did in class. We interviewed our parents and got a glimpse at their childhood. Throughout the interview I could see the emotions that the stories emitted, and how my mom was affected by them. A story can be just a story, but you can also take it to greater depths, and find a true meaning in it; it all depends on the imagination and the love for literature that you posses.
