Step Up review

“Step up" is a romantic music drama directed by Anna Fletcher. The main characters are Tyler Gage and Nora Clark. It is set in Baltimore, Maryland School of the Arts. It’s a story about two young people from different milieu. However, their passion for dance brought them together.

The main character is a young man - Tyler Gage, who was a street dancer. He grew up in poor district among thieves of cars. He was living in a poor family and he has never had a professional training. One day Tyler and his friends damaged some stuff in Maryland School of the Arts. The guide caught him and Tyler was condemned. He had to work in that school for 200 hours. He met there a nice girl – Nora and he liked her a lot. She was preparing an important performance, which could start her professional career. Her partner – Andrew had an accident and broke his leg. He couldn’t dance with Nora. Therefore, she was looking for a new partner who could replace Andrew. Tyler offered her that he will help her. Then they were practicing together. Their passion for dance brought them together. In the meantime a strong feeling started between them.

The plot of that film is very interesting. The main topic is dancing and music. It shows two different sides of dance – street dancing and ballet. There is also a love motive.
In this movie I liked the soundtrack the most. There was a lot of hip hop and R&B music, which I really like. Most of the pieces are sung by famous artists such as Ciara, Sean Paul, Chris Brown and Mario. What’s more, staff and choreography was amazing. There were many young actors, who were authentic in their roles. For example, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan who played the main characters were brilliant in their roles. In my opinion, this film is definitely worth seeing. I recommend it to everybody.
