Phone booth is a thriller film set in New York, United States in the present day. This eighty-minute film is directed by Joel Schumacher, known from blockbusters like: "The Client" (1994), "Batman Forever" (1995), "A Time to Kill" (1996), "Bad Company" (2002) and many other. The film has an excellent cast. Colin Farrell plays the main role as Stuart Shepard. Subordinate roles are played by Kiefer Sutherland, Forest Whitaker, Radha Mitchell and Katie Holmes.

Self-centred, arrogant, public relations man, Stu Shepard goes into a phone booth to call his mistress without his wife knowing. As soon as he hangs up, the phone rings and he hears a stranger's voice telling him that if he tries to leave the booth he will be shot dead. He starts to believe what he is hearing when a man tries to get in the booth and is gunned down. The most interesting, odd fact is, that the caller knows everything about Stuart.
Stu is emotionally stripped naked by the caller. His lies, half-truths, and obfuscation no longer matter. Instead, he must dig deep into his soul, find his strength and attempt to outwit the caller, taking the game to an even more dangerous level.

Although the film is rather short, the script is really exciting and full of high-adrenalin action. The cast is excellent, especially Kiefer Sutherland as the sniper with frightening voice and of course, Colin Farrell as his casualty. The story will keep you on the edge of your seat right up to the surprising end.

Phone booth is a masterpiece of its kind and is bound to be a box office hit. It is worth seeing, as it has action, fright and some deeper psychological meaning.
