One of the most famous building in Poland is the Palace of Culture and Science. Monumental high-rise is located in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. This skyscraper is one of the most tall building in Europe and the tallest building in Poland.
The originator of the idea was Josef Stalin. The building was designed by L.W. Rudniew - Russian-born architect and built by 3,5 thousands soviet workers and engineers .
It was started in 1952 and finished in 1955.
The Palace of Culture and Science was a gift to Pole from Russian to celebrate The October Revolution.
The Palace of Culture and Science is visited by more than a half million people every year. On 30th floor is a viewing area. Visitors who get up on this floor by elevator can admire fantastic view on the capital. Tourists can also buy postcards, stamp and other souvenirs of this high-rise.
