Opis przerażającej i niebezpiecznej sytuacji

A few days ago my mom almost got us into a car accident. At the time we were both so shocker and scared that I think it's a miracle we got out of it without scratch.
My mom drops me off at school on her way to work every morning, because she's a teacher. A few days ago it was her turn of duty in school so we were in a hurry to get out of the house before seven twenty. Unfortunately we didn't make it and she was running late. To top it all she was distracted and absent-minded that day.
We were standing on a parking lot exit, waiting to drive out in the street. To our right I could see another car coming really fast. I thought mom stopped to let it pass, but unfortunately it turned out I was wrong. When I saw my mom push the gas pedal I yelled at her to watch out. She hit the brakes really hard. Mere centimeters separated us from a serious accident as the car zoomed before us. It turns out she haven't even noticed the other vehicle as she was looking exactly the opposite way.
Never have I felt so shocker and frightened before. My mom was also shocked and embarassed at that. She apologised to me and promised to be more careful next time. Hopefully this won't happen again.
