The wild life in Australia is very special, and many of animals are marsupials like Kangaroo and wombat. I will tell you about some animal who I mean are very special.

The koala
Many think it is a bear but it is a marsupial, it is called koala bear because the first white settlers in Australia call him a bear. Because koala are a marsupial the female koala have a punch, when a baby is born it stay in the pouch for five to six months. Koala male lives up to 10 years when females can live up to 17 years old. The koala lives in the tree and sleep the most of the day, but it is more active in the evenings. Koalas are in size of a teddy bear it is about 70- 90 cm, and weights up to 4-9 kg. Koalas are eating about 1 kilo of leaves during the day.

Kangaroos
The kangaroos are marsupials who live in Eastern Australia. They have very strong back legs and small front legs, they use the legs to balance while jumping and can travel more than 38kmh. They are biggest of all marsupials and are over 2 meters long. Kangaroos live in group of around 50 animals called troops or herds. The female kangaroos have a punch, the little kangaroo is called joeys, when a joey is born it is about 2.5 cm long. It stays in the punch in 10 months.

Wombat
They are only living in Australia, but most Australians have never seen a wild wombat. Wombats eat roots and grass. Wombats are living in burrows what can be up to 30 meters long. Most wombats are not living together, but some of them life in colonies in larger groups. The wombats are form 71 to 119 cm long and weight up to 36 kg. A wombat baby remains in its mother's pouch for about five months. And a seven mounts young wombat can care about himself.
