Student exchange - for and against essay

Student exchange can be a life changinf experience. However, just as everything else, it has it's pros and cons. I'll try to present this topic in a way thath may help you decide if it's a good thing or not.
First of all, when you're an exchange you geto to practice your language in the best way possible - by talking to locals. If you decide to take part in the exchange you get to know another culture, learn about their customs and traditions, try local food. You can be proud to have visited a little bit of this world. But the most important thing is you're expansing you knowledge in new ways that may be more efficient than in your own country.
However, there're a few disadvantages, when you're an exchange. You're deprived of the life you lead until now. Your friends, family, home, familiar streets are gone. Everything's new and you feel like an outcast with no one to sympathise with. Then there's the possibility you won't get along well with your host family, which is the worst that can happen when you're living with them. Also studying abroad can be expensive, whatever we are talking about buying things or paying the tuition.
In my opinion student exchange has more important arguments for. Even if there're some drawbacks to it, it's still worth the risk. If you are to decide one day I hope you'll choose to take part in it, if only to not regret later not snatching such an opportunity.
