The Tatra National Park
General information
The Tatra National Park is one of 23 national parks in Poland. He is situated in the southern part of Poland, in the Lesser Poland province, on the border with Slovakia. He was created on the legal validity of the regulation of the council of ministers from 30 October 1954 and opened on the day of 1 January 1955. Zakopane is a registered office of the Park. The Tatra National Park is one of the biggest national parks in Poland - his area is 21164 ha. About forests and thickets of the dwarf mountain pine are filling the 70% of the area of the park, and remaining a 30% is mountain grass, rocks and waters. Almost 11.5 thousand is provided with the rigorous protection the ha of the area, floor all in it of halls and the crag, a dwarf-pine belt and partly also forests of the upper and bottom wooded sections of the Tatra mountains. The rigorous protection consists in the protection of processes occurring in the natural environment.
