People around the world keep in mind events from their own life. I also remember some episodes from my eighteen years of living. For example, Christmas Eve in 1996- two months before my grandmother died.
Winter was beautiful. It snowed lightly. Looking through the window I could feel that it was Christmas time. Outside was nobody. People were waiting for guests or the firsts star.
I was wearing skirt and heavy sweater. My mother and sister were next to me; both in Christmas clothes. We were waiting for my grandfather because he promised us that he would pick up us to go to his hose where already the rest of the members of our family were.
The big Christmas tree was standing in front of the window. Under the tree the presents had been prepared for everybody.
When the first star appeared into sky, we already had been around the table. My grandfather read the short part of the Bible and later we prayed. We were breaking the bread and wishing each other everything that everyone needed. The Christmas Eve had started. We ate red borsch which was too hot and I could not finish it. (The soup had been cooked by few people and that was the reason why the borsch was too hot.)
After a few hours around the table was time for presents and to sing carols.
The night for me was over I went sleep like my cousins did. Older members of my family went to church.
It was a wonderful Christmas Eve.
