Dieting- does it bring more harm or good? Present and justify your opinion.

Dieting is one of the most widespread ways in which people take care of their health. It concerns everyone because it is connected with one aspect of human life common to all people and necessary for survival- food. people start dieting for a number of reasons which are related to one another: to lose or gain weight, or to affect their health positively.

Although we usually don't like dietin, there ale some points in favour of using it. Firstly it helps to regulate weight in the way we want. Secondly, we feel that we can, in fact, control our life in a beneficial way, and if we ale successful it increases our self-esteem. Moreover it teaches us daily discipline (self-discipline), which later may be reflected in a generally more disciplined way of life.

On the other hand dieting may be harmful. To start with, our overall health may be nagatively affected by the diet, e.g. general physical weakness. Moreover diets are often based on eating some types of food and not eating others- the overall nutritional value of food is not balanced, which e.g. may affect particular internal organs. Finally, dieting does not often bring good results- poor success rate of the mayority of diets. We gain weight back after some time- the yo- yo effect.

Concluding, the diets are not the only way to be "healthy and wealthy", but if we really wish to get on a diet his decision should be reasonable. We should watch what we eat, but without any exaggeration.
