Mój przyjaciel - wygląd i charakter / My friend - apperance and character

I have known Joanna since my first day at kindergarten when we were only four. In primary school we shared the same desk. As far back as I can remember, we have always been doing a lot of things together, playing, learning and gossiping. We live in the same blocks of flats and see each other every day. Some friends even call us budgerigars because we are almost inseparable.
Joanna is the opposite of me. I am rather chubby and short, and she is tall and long-legged. She is very pretty and quite popular with the boys. She has a dark complexion, delicate features, fuul lips, almond-shaped green eyes and long, wavy, black hair. She prefers the casual style. She usually wears sports clothes and feels most comfortable in jeans and T-shirt.
I like her character. I am rather shy and reserved and I lose heart easily. I have little confidence in myself but Joanna is always cheerful and enthusiastic. She has bags of energy and is always bursting with new ideas. She is also very sociable and loves to be the center of attention.
Joanna is a quick learner and has a sharp mind. She does very well at school but she is not a swot. She is versatile and has many diverse interests and talents. She practises volleyball, plays the guitar, reads voraciously and is an expert on modern art. Although I am better at maths and physics, she can speak English with near native fluence and has a good command of French.
I am very happy that Joanna is my closest friend. I feel fortunate to have met her. I know that she will never let me down. She has, however, a few faults. Her weakest points are her tendency to exaggerate things her lack of patience. She is hot-headed. Joanna is also a chatterbox because she is a tremendous talker but I don't mind. Nobody is perfect!
