Almost all people in the world watched television at least once in their lifetime. When it was presented for the first time, people had spoken about how it can change the world. In most cases, great inventions carry greads predicts, and no one thinks about disadvantages at first. The Same happened witch TV. Now - several tenn years after the creation of the first television set - we can watch behind, and objectively say which of those great words fulfilled, and which did not.
From the begining, TV was to be a great tool for learning. Now, we have several great channels devoted to nature (like Animal Planet) and science (like Discovery) from which we can learn and explore the world without going outside our homes. The next important thing about TV, is easy access to information - thousands of news programs from the whole world give us the most important messages.
Although, staying in home in front of TV and watching 'Elephants' Life' won't ever be as great as going to real safari in Africa. Let's face the truth - how many of us are using TV to learn? For most of us, it is mostly the centre of home entertainment - of course it is not bad, but if we stay all day at home, watching stupid sitcoms or all-the-same action films, we are just wasting our time.
Summing it up - TV is a great tool, but we mus use it wisely. Personally, I am not watching TV very often, because I do not find anything valuable and really interesting.
