Dear Mr. Smith!

I am writing to take a part in a competition which was announced in Blink last week. I have an idea how to encourage people in our town to read more. Let me explain my vision.

Action should be addressed to everyone, alike adults and elderly people, children and teenagers. It is not hard to notice teenagers are reading less and less. Many of them prefers other entertainments, because they do not know books can be thrilling. I think it is needed to promote young-adult fiction by organising meetings with writers in schools. Some authors will be willing to participate this campaing, because it will give them a chance to attract new readers.
It is important to interest youngest people with literature. Unfortunately very often overworked parents forgot to read betime stories to their kids. It can be changed by adding in Blink a coulmn with fairytales, which, noticed by adult readers, encourage to read to children.
But smaller readership in every age group is caused also by higher prices of books. At the same time people throw their old books in the trash, while there is an easy way to share them. In places of public use they should be placed shelves for an unused books, from which everyone will be able to choose something.

To summarise, action which includes meetings with writers, promoting reading to children and exchanging of books will not cost much, but ceratinly can bring good results.
