Lopien
One of the four mountains that surround my village is Lopien. The mountain has 951 meters high. It is autstanding, has several mountain arms, situated in villages: Dobra, Tymbark, Slopnice, Chyszowki, Jurkow. It has 3 peaks: East Lopien (805 m), Middle Lopien (855 m) and Lopien- Zlotopien (951 m). Here goes the border dividing three communes: Dobra, Tymbark and Slopnice.

TOURIST
On this mountain there are many picturesque glades where the tourists can relax. On a big glade- Jaworza is a small lookout point and a commemorative book for tourists . It is an excellent vieving point from which you can admire Mogielica, Jasien, Gorce, Cwilin, Snieznica hills. When the weather is good you can even see the Tatra Mountains.
NATURE
[ On the back this mountain there is a marshy bog- place occurrence carnivorous sundew ]. Wide and woody Łopień is habitat for many animals. Can found here deers, boars, lynxs, foxes. Many years ago, a bear was observed here. Besides, many birds and insects can be found in Lopien. In the northern slope of Lopien, there are several caves, among them Jaskinia Zbójecka (Natural Mounment), with a labirynth of narrow corridors of a length over 400 meters. It is not only one of the largest cave in Poland, but also the place of living bats.

LEGEND
Many legends are associated with Lopien. According to one of them, Lopien was a husband of Mogielica. Another legend explains its old name- Zlotopien. According to this legend in the old times, “nibydziad” collected the stones and made of them gold. Some people believe that even today, sometimes a cow or sheep find a nugget of gold.
