Forrest Gump - summery

‘Forrest Gump’ is a warm story about an idiot who is cleverer than most people. It was written by Winston Groom.
The book contains some historical facts. The plot starts in the 1960s and continuous until 1990s.
During that time Forrest who is the main character of the novel and first appears as a child in an ‘Idiot school’. Than he starts playing football and meets Jenny Curran.

At first no one liked him, but than when he turned to be such a good football player schoolmates started to treat him normally. It is also the reason why he was successful in getting to University. However he wasn’t a very good student and after a year they sent him back home.
When he came back home his mother informed him that he was going to go to Vietnam. After a year of preparation he was sent to Asia.
He was a very good however not very intelligent soldier. He served in the army with a grate commitment. Forrest stayed with his friend Bubba on the battle field till bubba died. When Gump came back from Vietnam ha started shrimp business.

This book gives you a lot of information about life in the US during the 30 years period.
It also has a moral message towards that no one should be treated without respect even when he is a considered idiot!
