Although most of the modern textbooks prefer the system of the vocabulary and grammar joint together with some recalling and recognition included, they are often ineffective in providing the student with the information memorised and used correctly in the future.
To launch a suitable system of language education, we need to know, how the basic structures of the human brain work. In general we single out the left - hand and right - hand halves of the brain mentioned.
The right - hand sideloves music, sounds and colours. On the other hand, the different side is responsible for logical and comprehensive thinking. Those two structures fit together, so that we have to use them equally in the remembering trial.
Firstly, as you have learnt your mother tongue you did not include any reading or writing (except for a few cases). As you may know, it's much easier for us to remember pictures, ideas or smells, so do colours etc. That's, honestly saying, the crucial way the new words and phrases get to our mind.
Totally incorrect is to focus on the grammar and the overall accuracy from the beginning, because the order was completely opposite in our childhood.
Therefore, we need to memorise the wordlist at first. But how do we reach that point? In sure, it isn't the way of 'cramming up', unless you're a photographic memory person.
The most efficient way, in my opinion, is the method of associating facts. For eg.: the word 'balloon' - imagine you' re on the ball, dancing, and suddenly the Moon brightens the whole room from the window. That's how we divided the word into 'ball', and 'moon'. As visible, it's not necessary to find the words that exactly glue up into a longer one. Sometimes, a letter is missing, sometimes there are two of them. However, you can possibly create unexpected associations with unexpected words.
Is the language school the only way to 'catch up' the language? Not at all, mainly, because the methods adjusted are not that different from those we already know.
We will not communicate correctly without speaking more, even if we know, that we make mistakes or (and) lack vocabulary. That's why we do so - let's make errors purposely and focus on the news we actually need to reveal to the other people.
An effective training before start talking, is listening to the correct pronounciation of a concrete word or phrase. Much more often today people download their oral lessons and listen to them wherever they find.
Just after the structure is introduced to you, make a drawing of that or another association if possible, still remembering about repeating what you've got as a schedule.
Whatever your way is - don't forget you need to be disciplined - nothing can come without the hard work. It's always better to learn one hour daily, rather than five hours a particular one. Maybe you know, what's the feeling of 'the knowledge decaying with time', so follow the regular lessons, alone or together, as often as you can.
There is no doubt, that, foreign languages today are helpful for us to find ourselves in the time of globalisation. They strenghten us at work, at school, on the street, with the best value - our own satisfaction.
