We all complain about the living conditions of our cities. We should be aware of the fact that there is a great variety of methods for us to make our town a better place to live. For instance we all can improve our environment, we may try influencing traffic pollution, noise and crime in its various forms. Problems connected with pollution are common in the cites. We need to cooperate with the government to succeed. People should get involved in recycling schemes so there will be less rubbish to pollute environment. Moreover, those in power may force factories to put filters on chimneys to prevent emissions of pollutants. It depends on us if our mills adopt environmental friendly technologies. Once we stop using products of companies whose factories cause pollution, this may force them to change their methods of manufacturing. Many people complain about smog caused by traffic – jams or noise of big trucks hauling goods at night. To avoid traffic - jams we should do our best to improve public transport. If the buses or trains were comfortable, people would use them instead of their cars. As far as the noise is concerned we may ban trucks from the cities in order to avoid the roars of big engines running in the vicinity of our domicile. However, not only pollution or noise are the issue. Another problem common in towns and cities is crime. Its existence is also our fault. We do not react when we witness vandalism or gang activities. Sometimes people afraid of reacting and they often think that no one may handle the social margin. Alas, they are wrong! With their help the police may fight those who make our cities dangerous. We can take some actions. One example may be monitoring of dangerous places, which would make our towns safer. To sum up we may improve the way we live in our towns by introducing various methods and approaches to the problems we face.
