My town Bytom
Bytom is a very old city, so it's rich in history. The town with population of 180 thousand people is situated in the south in a region which we call Silesia. That was the most industrial part of Poland and there still are a lot of coal mines. Fortunately most of them are closed. Unfortunately our air is still polluted. However it is a beautiful place especially in summer because everywhere is green.
We have many interesting buildings and churches and some castles that were built before The II World War. During the war Bytom was part of the Germany?s Empire. My great grandma is one of people from Silesia who still remember the II World War.
The most popular place in the centre of Bytom is a market square. There are always many people walking across the square or relaxing in this nice place.
