AIDS – the problem of contemporary word.
AIDS means Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
It’s really extremely dangerous disease. People ill with AIDS lose their physical immunity, which often leads to death.
Today we can say about epidemic of AIDS, because it’s killing hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Scholars have no prospect of a vaccine and we’re simply powerless to stop the disease.
People ill with AIDS are victims of the HIV, but also of the society, which often is not tolerant enough to accept them. They live under big pressure, afraid of dying lonely and painful death. Ills lose their jobs, friends and family.
But some of them have enough power and faith to fight with their disease. They try to find new group of friends, keep special diet, go to support meetings, etc.
People are really afraid of AIDS mostly because they don’t know enough about it. They believe, that they can very easily get infected, but it’s not true. The truth is that it’s not possible to get infected by touch, kiss or using the same bathtub. However, accidental sexual contacts or unsterilized medical equipment can be responsible for the contagion.
Very important for people is to educate themselves about the risk of AIDS, otherwise we may never be able to combat the epidemic.
