Majorca, largest of the Balearic Islands, lies off the south- eastern coast of Spain. Its wealth of breathtaking scenery, fine beaches and lively nightlife have made it one of the most popular holiday areas in the world.

The scenery of this Mediterranean island is particularly beautiful. The majestic mountain ranges of the north contrast with the windmill- dotted plains of the sauth.

Hidden among the folds of the hills are small farming communities which the twentieth century seems almost to have passed by.

Yet, on the island’s south coast are extensive holiday resorts with many modern hotels, bars, restarants and two good golf courses.

Contrary to popular belief, not everywhere on Majorca is modern and sophisticated. Wide, tree-lined promenades contrast oddly with dusty cart- tracks. Luxury hotels rub shoulders with modest pensions.

You can choose between elegant nightclubs and restaurants or simple bodegas where you will find fisherman at the nightbouring tables. Majorca caters for all tastes and all budgets.
