Modern marriages

I would like to write my opinion about modern marriages. I think they are many differences between couples now and dozens years ago. Some of them are good and some of them are not. At first, I would like to say something about bad things in modern marriages.

I think that people involved in current marriages are not as romantic as they were a few years ago. They are not using such a beautiful words, while talking about their love to each other. There does not appear a secret or a mystery. Many people decide too early to get married and that is the reason, they divorce soon. Their decisions are rash. Nevertheless, there are also good things in modern marriages.

Formerly, parents were choosing partner for their child. Sometimes there was no love, just money and good position. Now people choose on their own, whom would they marry. Moreover, as they get married, woman and man are partners for each other. Man cooks, brings up children and woman works and earns money for family. There are no defined functions in marriages. Partners have more freedom. I think it is very important: not to feel like in a prison.

Of course, there appear marriages that are different than in “examples” above. Sometimes partners are romantic. They draw hearts everywhere and tell “sweety” to each other. There are also marriages, where you will not find love - husband - an alcoholic - hits his wife and children. In addition, many times they cannot divorce, because of money, communal house etc. It is very joyless.

Therefore, as we see, modern marriages are various. Moreover, we cannot say if they are worse or better than dozens of years ago. However, there is one thing, we could say for sure: they are far removed to “old-fashioned” marriages and for people that lived 100 hundred years ago they could seem to be strange.
