Supraśl – small town near Białystok. It is situated in the centre of Knyszyńska wilderness, in north – eastern part of Poland. The distance between Supraśl and Białystok is only 18 km so it is a very good place to spend nice weekend for everyone who prefer calm and peace than cars horns beeping, in peculiar for inhabitants Podlasie, (but not only).
One advantage of visiting Supraśl is that it is an old village with fascinated history. There are many lovelies’ places to stop at. First of all is Buchholtze Palace, from 1892 build in classical style (present Art. School) secondly Archimandryt Palace and monastic buildings from XVII century with exiting Bazylian Orthodox Church from beginning of XVI century. Everyone who is interested in history of art and architecture can find something there for him/her self.
I have to say, that in this city isn’t any cinema. In spite of In Supraśl is locate Wierszalin Theatre knows in all Poland. Also there are: a pub, small but very charming cafe, and very good confectioner’s shop, and ... (I won’t say a word, you should to verity it by yourself ;)
If you want to spend vacation there, I’ll propose to stop near the Supraśl River, on Jurek camping, where are small bar, and not big, but pretty beach good situated for swimming (dreamily place for vacation with children). I’ll can also suggest seeing some of footprint in the wilderness. Very interesting for people whom like knowing flora and fauna. The other of advantages is that in winter there are many winter games in the forest. Views of pines wearing in soft snow is beautiful, and smell of crystal- clear air (since 1998 year Supraśl is a health resort). Up to a point is that in spring you can visit Uroczysko (days of culture and art of Supraśl Town). I’d recommended it for each person.
To sum up, in my point of view that village is the better region to spend pleasant time or to rest some without hurry. It isn’t an expensive city. Located near Białystok, so if you don’t have got a car, you can travel there buy bus (departs from buses station is very often, and the “voyage” is really cheep, only 4 zł).
