Macclesfield is located withing the county of Cheshire and is the biggest town of the Macclesfield borough in England. I've chosen to describe it because of my visit there this summer.
It's a market town famous for it's silk industry. The shopping area is very big and you can find almost everything there. The town has many attractions for tourists. Art exhibitions and street performances are on a daily basis there. To celebrate 750th Anniversaty of granting of the Royal Charter to Macclesfield by Henry III through his son Prince Edward, a Charter Exhibition was organised in the town hall and even more events are to come. There are several museums including The Silk Museum with it's silk shop. In the streets you can meet people of various cultures and see beautiful old churches od different faiths. The people there are very nice and friendly. Through the town goes the nearly 200 years old Macclesfield Canal and a walk along it can be a great relax. The are also big parks with playground areas. Near one of them is a big, old cemetery where you can find some beautiful, touching memorials.
I really like Macclesfield because event though it's a quiet and peaceful town it can be interesting and lively. It has many things to offer and I think it's a great place to live.
