Cheops Pyramid is situated in Giza (Egipt). It was built between 2551B.C. and 2528B.C. by Cheops’ people. It is one of the miracles of the world. It was built next to two Pyramids: Chefren and Mykerinos.
Pyramid is in triangular shape. It is 146,6 meters high, but now only 138 meters. The Pyramid weights 6 400 000 tonnes. It has got two names: Cheops Pyramid and ,,Big Pyramid”. Its fundamentals are 230·230 meters.
It was built of 2 300 000 big stones. One stone weights 2,5 tonnes. The Pyramid was made by 100 000 people. At first the building was planned. On the square fundamentals many crossing channels were created. During the project many people were dead. The Pyramid was covered with white stone.
The pharaoh sarcophagi was buried in the Pyramid. Inside there are many precious things. People thought it was a sacred place and that there was a ghost. The first man who come into the pyramid was Abd Allah al-Ma’-mum. It was between A.D. 813 and A.D. 833. He wanted to get richer, but he didn’t find anything. Many years later, the top of the Pyramid was stolen.
