Wind power

Key among the various advantages which wind power brings is its beneficial effect on our environment. By more widespread use of it, we could prove ourselves to be much better custodians of our planet.
Windmills are one of the oldest forms of energy used in the world. It was invented in Persia, back in 200 A.D. In the 3rd century, windmills were used for many reasons like to pumping out water from the wells, grinding grain for flour or cutting wood. The wind turbine works the opposite of a fan. Instead of using electrical energy to generate wind energy, turbines use wind energy to generate electrical energy. The wind turbine is built as a tall tower with a gearbox and generator, and a propeller on the top. The wind blows the propeller round, which turns a generator to produce electricity.
Wind turbines do not require any fossil fuels to generate any sort of electricity. It fully relies on wind. It does not produce air pollution while generating electricity, making it better for environment. Smog, which is brought by power plant, can cause health effects such as coughing, headaches and lung disease including cancer. Fossil fuels contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. Wind turbines use less that 5% of the land on which they are set. The remaining 95% space can be used for other purposes, such as farming, ranching, grazing, foresting or as a lovely meadow covered with flowers. Wind turbines require a minimum manufacturing, transport and installation costs compared with other alternative energy forms like solar panels or CHP.
Power Wind is very useful and can protect our planet for years but it also has many disadvantages. The main disadvantage regarding to wind power is a noise which the turbines make. The wind turbines have to be built miles away from houses. The power generate is dependent to the wind speed so usually turbines are placed on mountains, on the hilltop or near the coast, where the most wind is possible, and in the water. The area must have 10-12 power average wind speed which not all spots have. The turbines are dangerous for birds. Many of them die when they fly into blades.
