Lucky to be alive

This is a story about a young women who is the only one survived person fro a plane to London. It was quite nice Friday afternoon, the Sun was shining and nothing was portending the accident.

A young women – Monika – was flying to London with her boyfriend. They wanted to spend the weekend together. They sat near the back of the small plane. Monika was able to look out of the window. She noticed hat the weather got a little worse than a few minutes before. The shy looked black, the wind started to blow. However, the plane took off. Twenty minutes later it flew into a terrible storm. It rolled, bounced and shuddered in the violent turbulence. The passengers were very scared.

Monika can’t remember anything after that until she opened her eyes. She didn’t know where she was. Slowly she realized that the plane crashed. She was in terrible pain and was not able to move. It was dark and extremely cold. She heard some voices and she counted that about six people were alive. But when the daylight came there was the only person alive – it was Monika. She waited for rescuers and really believed in their coming. But she didn’t know that the plane was in the middle of the jungle. Besides, there was heavy rain outside, which made helicopters’ flying impossible. Monika looked out of the window and saw the flood water creeping slowly up the side of the fuselage. And that water saved her life. Monika tore a piece of cloth and pushed it through the broken window into the water. Then she pulled the cloth back in and squeezed the dirty water into her mouth. It was her only chance to survive.

After nine days the rescue team arrived. They took Monika to a hospital. She had a fractured jaw and all toes on left foot broken. But she was lucky to be alive. However, at the same time she couldn’t accept her boyfriend’s death and she still dreams that he had survived with her.
