Once my friend and I went on a camping trip in the Summer. I love camping and my friend, Jason, likes it too. What happened was Jason and I were going on a canoe drip down a river nearby. It was Jason's first time on a canoe so he was already panicking, but he got through it. We started to paddle, I was in the back because the more experienced person sits in the back. Everything was going fine until I accidentally took a wrong turn on and strayed off the river! We quickly found ourselves in a different river, and this one wasn't so peaceful. Ahead of us were massive rapids, the water churning very fast. Jason started freaking out, he got so scared that he threw the paddle and we couldn't get it back. Naturally, this caused Jason to panic even more, he started screaming, and yelling. I have been in a situation like this before so I told Jason we can get through is and for him to follow my instructions. "Get on your knees and keep your head down!" I told him. He calmed down a bit but even my heart was racing. We were really close to the rapids now and finally we hit. Our canoe was being thrown back and forth against the rocks, it wasn't going to last any longer. Then it stopped, the water was peaceful again. We peeked our heads up to see that we did it, we crossed the rapids. Delighted and feeling a weight lifted from our shoulders, Jason and I started laughing. We have survived a crazy story and it will be fun to tell. In the end we were both safe and paddled back to our campsite. I tried to remain calm on the outside, but during that ride I was panicking as much as Jason. My friend then looks up at me and says "I am never going on a boat again...".
