The United States of America

The United States of America (the U.S.A.) is a federal republic in North America. With a history of over 200 years, the country is considered to be the oldest constitutional republic in the world. The U.S. originated from 13 colonies in British North America that declared their independence in 1776 and were recognized as the new nation.
America is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. They have a lot of highways.

Everybody knows citys like New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas or Chicago. In America we can find a lot of very interesting places, for example: Statue of Liberty, Hollywood or Times Sq. We can also visit place like American Museum of Natural History, Central Park or Beverly Hills. Colleges like Havard or Yale are knows all around the world.

New York it?s probably the most famous city in the world. The centre of New York is the island of Manhattan. Today the island is full of skcyscrapers, but four hundred years ago it was the home of the Indians. In 1626, a Dutchman, Peter uit, bought the island from the Indians for just 24 dollars and built some houses there. He called it New Amsterdam. Over the next three hundred years New York grew into the largest city in the USA. There are hundred places to go: museums, art galleries, theatres, cinemas and nightclubs plus thousands of restaurants and shops, including the biggest shop in the world, Macy?s. The Statue of Libert was a gift from the people of France and it stands on Libert Island.

Las Vegas is the most populous city in the state of Nevada. The city is a major vacation, shopping and gambling destinational. Las Vegas was established in 1905.

Hollywood is a district of the city of Los Angeles, California, USA. It is a very popular destination for nightlive and tourism.

Washington is the capital city of the United States of America. The city is named after George Washington the first President of the United States.
