Good morning. My name is Jan Kowalski, and I`m professor of linguistics on Śląski University. Today, I would like to approximate you to the influence of foreign language on modern Polish language. This influence is really perceptible in our country. Every day we can meet examples of this. The most popular loan-words are from English language. Often we can use this words and even don`t notice this. Do you know people, who aren`t using this words? I think that the ask reads „No”. Of course, I don`t know that people too. For example: we very often use word: „OK”. This word is borrowed from English language just as „market”, „kompatybilny”, „sorry” etc. But we don`t borrow words only from English language. Often loan-words is from French, German, Latin and Italy languages. Examples: from French language borrows to us words: „wizażysta”, „malakser”. German language lend us words: „pingwin”, „musli”. Italy words in our languages are: „pizza”, „cappucino”, and from Latin: „poganin”, „personalia”. I`ll back to the English language... The influence of this language we can notice „on every step”. Striking english names of shops, articles, movies. On labels and handbills we can read informations in English language and other European languages, often among this is missing Polish language! In above half of works we must know one of foreign languages to give this work. Finally, I would like to say you that by foreing languages, I must spend long hours on writing compositions...
