My dear E.T. Mama,

Thank you very much for your last letter. I was very pleased to hear from you. I am slowly getting used to living on Earth. It is totally different from what we have at home. Terrestrials have many strange appliances. Recently I have been acquainted with many interesting things. I got curious especially with one, which I would like to describe.

I do not remember the name of it. Very many people have it. It comes in different sizes, shapes and colours but I noticed that most of it is pretty small. The sizes do not exceed four by two by one inch. On the front panel of it there is a display and below a keyboard of about fifteen keys. A terrestrial friend of mine explained me that people use it for communication. This thing sometimes gives some nice melodies. And then people talk to it, which seems funny to me. On another occasion it gives a beep and then people read something, which is written on the display of that thing and later usually they type some messages by pressing the keys.

Well mama, as you can see some things are quite strange here. But I cannot complain because the strange things are also very interesting.
